Lynn’s Angels – The True Story of E. Lynn Harris and the Women Who Loved Him” tells the remarkable story of more than thirty years of friendship between the late author E. Lynn Harris and the five women who comprised the family that he invented for himself that he called Lynn’s Angels. These women were with him as he struggled with his own identity, during his darkest days, as he began to be true to himself, as he found his voice, as he climbed the ladder of success, when he found love, as he reached the pinnacle of his career and sadly, as he left this earth. Through a series of personal accounts, letters and pictures, the stories in this book reveal a side of E. Lynn Harris that the public rarely saw: friend, uncle, father, son, fraternity brother and fanatical Razorback fan. Ultimately, it shows that what really makes a family is love. Even for those who are not familiar with E. Lynn Harris, this book touches on the universal concept of voluntary kinship and can help others appreciate the significance of their own invented families. Lynn's Angels will motivate readers to create lasting records of their own legacies of friendship and love with the people who chose to become their angels.
